Description

This Magic Shell Smoothie Bowl combines a creamy frozen fruit base with a chocolate shell that hardens on contact. Perfect for breakfast or a guilt-free treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 frozen bananas

  • ½ cup frozen cherries (optional)

  • 24 tablespoons almond or oat milk

  • 1 tablespoon almond butter or chia seeds

  • ½ cup dark chocolate chips

  • 1½ tablespoons coconut oil

Instructions

  • Blend frozen bananas and optional cherries with almond or oat milk until thick and smooth.

  • Scoop smoothie into a bowl and freeze for 5–10 minutes to firm up the surface.

  • In a small saucepan or microwave-safe bowl, melt dark chocolate chips and coconut oil together until smooth.

  • Drizzle the melted chocolate over the chilled smoothie base.

  • Freeze again for 2–3 minutes until the chocolate shell hardens.

  • Top with berries, granola, and a pinch of sea salt. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Swap cherries for mango or pineapple for a tropical twist.

  • Use cacao powder, maple syrup, and coconut oil for a refined sugar-free shell.

  • A powerful blender works best to achieve that thick, ice-cream-like texture.
